When you play two notes that use the same tone, the volume is not simply doubled, the " loudness robbing" is an effect inherent to the Hammond circuit which reduces the volume of a specific tonewheel depending on the number of notes accessing that same tonewheel.įor similar reasons, the " voltage stealing" is another effect that also reduces the overall volume based on the number of notes played, but this time it applies to the whole organ, not just the tonewheels. Hammonds are electric, and the amount of volume each tonewheel puts out is limited. In the Prefs panel, there are a few very advanced but extremely useful features that help increase the realism of the sound:
